The problem
Most tills think a skatepark is a shop.
A skatepark front desk isn't selling products off a shelf. It's checking riders into sessions with capacity and age limits, charging members and non-members different prices, hiring out kit against a deposit, and keeping waivers, medical notes and incident reports where the insurer can see them.
A retail till can't do most of that. We built Dropin so all of it lives on one screen.
At the desk
Scan the card. Everything else is already there.
Scanning a membership card opens the rider's profile, showing their membership and what they've bought before. Sessions, kit hire and passes come up at the right price for that rider, and payment is a single tap.
If the card belongs to a family, the till asks who is riding today.
What we built
Everything the desk needs, and the website too.
At the desk
- Check-in by scanning a membership card or QR pass, or by searching for the rider
- Member, non-member, pro and spectator prices applied automatically
- Session buttons that appear on the till just before each session starts
- Kit hire with deposits, due-back times and a list of what is still out
- Separate tills for reception, café and shop, each with its own buttons
- Café and shop stock that goes down with every sale
Online and self-serve
- Booking calendar and Stripe payment for sessions, lessons, events and passes
- Membership cards and tickets in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
- Family accounts: parents book, pay and sign waivers for every child from one login
- Waitlists that offer cancelled places to the next rider and email them
- Private lessons booked straight into each coach’s availability
- Party enquiries sent to the park’s inbox, with a reply to the parent
Safety and records
- Waivers signed on a phone, with guardian signatures for under-18s
- Medical notes and two emergency contacts on each rider, with every view of medical notes logged
- Accident reports with RIDDOR details, witnesses and first aid, exported as a PDF for the insurer
- A change history on every member record
- UK GDPR tools to export or erase a member’s data on request
Cashing up and reporting
- End-of-day cash-up: opening float, note and coin count, expected cash and variance
- A printable Z report with takings by payment method, product type and VAT
- Dashboard with check-ins today, people in the park now and the week’s revenue
- Reports on traffic, sport, age, revenue, session fill rates, member growth and money owed
- Exports to CSV, Excel or PDF, so the park’s data stays its own
Running the park
- Daily takings sent to Xero automatically, with no re-typing
- Booking confirmations, receipts and waitlist emails, each one switchable per park
- Staff roles for owners, admins, staff and coaches
- Two-factor sign-in for owners and admins, plus a full audit log
- Several parks on one system, each with its own branding, prices and VAT settings
Booking and payments
Booked on a phone. Paid before they arrive.
Riders and parents pick a day, choose a session and pay online with Stripe. Member prices are applied automatically, full sessions offer a waitlist, and the booking turns into a QR pass for the desk.
At the desk, Dropin works with the park's existing card machine, so there's no proprietary terminal to rent. It also handles cash with change, split and part payments with balances owed tracked against the member, and VAT receipts printed or emailed.

Switching over
Moving 75,000 members without losing a rider.
Changing tills shouldn't mean starting again. We moved a park's whole history out of its old system: members, medical notes, photos, attendance and takings, café stock, events, vouchers and staff accounts.
The import can be safely re-run and checks that totals match afterwards, so the park could test on real data before switching over. Smaller parks can bring members in from a spreadsheet, and Dropin matches the columns automatically.
Runs on the kit a park already has.
Dropin runs in the browser: an iPad or Android tablet at reception, a Windows PC or Mac in the office, and a standard 80mm receipt printer. Adding another till is a setting, not another licence.
